New Years day poetry

1st January 2019 /

Hip hip hooray,
Today is New Year’s day.
The end of one year and the start of a new,
Time to start again and time to review.

Back to January, it will soon be February,
The year will go by as necessary.
It’s time to think about plans for the year,
To try again to achieve things that we will hold dear.

Things are discussed, ideas and resolutions,
But in amongst it comes different situations.
Life goes on with its trials and turns,
And we carry on and continue to learn.

We say goodbye to the old and try and strive,
We go on and try to thrive.
No one knows what will happen next,
All we can do is try our best.

The celebrations are over and its back to work tomorrow,
Back to the real world, back to stress and sorrow.
Life starts over and is it is rarely quiet,
A new year and time to restart the diet.

So we welcome in 2019,
And the future is now and soon to be seen.
To pick ourselves up and start working on our hopes,
Try and relax and live and cope.

Happy new year everyone,
Let’s all hope that it is a good and happy one!
