Christmas Eve poetry
It is a cold Christmas Eve and the children are busy,
Filled with excitement, with joy they are merry.
Mum is baking, mince pies and sausage rolls,
Thinking of the goodies and love that Christmas holds.
The cake, the company and the glee,
The smiley faces around the Christmas tree.
On Christmas Eve, Santa and his reindeer are ready,
To fly around the world, deliver toys, maybe a teddy.
Is snow forecast? Will Christmas be white?
For it is certainly cold outside tonight.
The long holiday, family time and laughter,
Families together and board games to be argued over.

The queues in the shops of gifts returned.
Some people give vouchers and some people really shop,
How much time is wasted? as to the shops, we hop.
A nice sparkly gift sat under the tree,
A welcoming sight for all to see.

With the excitement of Christmas day filling through the nation.
First with the love and the hard work of Santa,
His reindeer and sleigh as they spread love and laughter.
The smiles and the love of the girls and boys,
As on Christmas morning, they open their toys.
So on this Christmas Eve mum is making her pies,
Have a good Christmas this year, enjoy it, mum sighs.
To all my family and friends I wish you no fear,
Happy Christmas to all and a happy new year.
